About

Dera Ismail Khan Division is an administrative division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. The division consists of four districts: Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, South Waziristan Upper and South Waziristan Lower. The division is named after its headquarters, the city of Dera Ismail Khan.

The division is located in the southern part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bordering Punjab province to the east and Baluchistan province to the south.

The economy of Dera Ismail Khan Division is primarily based on agriculture, with wheat, sugarcane, and cotton being the main crops grown in the region. The division also has a significant livestock industry, with many farmers raising cattle, sheep, and goats. In recent years, the division has seen some development in the oil and gas industry, with several exploration and production projects being carried out in the area.

Dera Ismail Khan Division has several historical and cultural landmarks, including the Bilot Fort, the tomb of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani, and the shrine of Pir Sabir Shah in Tank. The division is also home to several natural attractions, including the Sulaiman Mountains and the River Indus.

The division has faced some challenges in recent years, including poverty, unemployment, and security issues due to its proximity to the tribal areas of Pakistan. However, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has initiated several development projects in the division to address these issues and improve the quality of life for its residents.

In summary, Dera Ismail Khan Division is a diverse and vibrant region of Pakistan, with a rich history, unique culture, and significant economic potential. Despite its challenges, the division is making progress in addressing its issues and is poised for further development and growth in the future.
